For the price, I did not expect luxury but comfort was there. Tiina has followed us from the start of the trip until we arrived. We kept in touch and when we missed (bad wheather) our flight, she was the first to be contacted. In addition, she provided a driver for us to do our trips across the island.
Keino has been of great help as a guide and allowed us to enjoy the green nature of Tobago, its beaches and other touristic attractions.
The owners, Tiina and Lion, allowed us to spend unforgettable holidays.
I was really impressed with the cozy feel of the upstairs cottage and how breezy and beautiful it was. My best friend and I were only able to stay one night but I definitely intend to return as soon as I can. Tina met us in town and lead the way to the cottage and was a warm and knowledgeable host. The cottage has a wonderful "home away from home" vibe and I like that her family is on the compound which made us feel really safe. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway not too far from the city.
The apartment is as advertised, a wonderful place to go and get away. Tiina and Lion keep the place clean and orderly, and if you want a good place to go and read, recharge, book it.
Tiina and Lion are wonderful hosts, and they will truly give you an introduction to the beautiful island of Tobago. They even often have freshly grown fruit (bananas and mangos) they offer you from their garden.
The location is relatively remote, but frankly not far from town or from the beaches. It's on top of a hill which makes for great views, and about a 5-10 minute drive from nearby attractions.
I wouldn't go there expecting a resort, but I wouldn't really go to Tobago at all for such a thing. It is a cottage where you can meet and live amongst the locals and let yourself disconnect from your hectic life. I am not sure when we will return, but we hope to do so at some point.
Yeaaahhh boy!
Very comfortable with amazing artistic interior design. I stayed for a full two weeks with my car and the studio apartment and to be honest I still miss it! Tiina and Lion were amazing, they would accommodate any queries and I am sure would even take you out if you were interested. Whatever fruit season it is I'm sure you will get to experience it whether its a breakfast smoothie or fresh fruit picked that morning. No complaints and the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need to cook which is always surprising but a complete plus! Even though it was a village in the country feel, Tiina and Lion are every much well known in the community and knowing that I felt very safe and didn't have any problems or hassle. I recommend it fully.
My family and I recently rented the entire guesthouse [upper & lower], and have only praise for the treatment we received while there.
The house was even more lovely than in the photos - as were Tina, Lion, and Spice. In fact, we now consider them part of our extended family, and send our warmest wishes to them always.
Our stay lasted for an entire month, and we completely loved our experience...from the happy moment that we arrived, right through until the sad one when we departed.
I can not express my thanks to Tiina & Lion (& Spice) for their hospitality while we stayed in their lovely apartment in Whim.. The apartment had everything we needed & the views across the village by day or moonlight left us relaxed, chilled & refreshed. Staying local instead of a hotel we experienced "real" Tobago. From the Rum Shack to the Chicken shack 🙂 to the lovely meal that Tiina & Lion cooked us with fresh produce in the garden, . We hired a car during our stay & travelled the island & the local contacts with their knowledge that they are so keen to share helped enormously... Would we stay there again? Most definitely altho hopefully the cockerel would have moved on by then lol .. But as I said it's village life 🙂
